The incident happened when a Xiaomi team was recruiting talents in Zhengzhou University. One of the team member said to the students, “if your major is Japanese, I suggest that you should get into the film industry.” Japanese majors on spot felt that they were discriminated and demanded a public apology.

The scope of visa granting will be expanded and the validity period of visa will be extended for foreign talents. Multiple-entry visa of up to 5 to 10 years will be granted to foreign experts who meet the criteria set by competent authorities. The spouse and children of any foreign expert who has been granted a special visa are entitled to the visa of the same period.
