The Draft expressly states that as long as couples give birth in line with laws and regulations, when the mother enjoys maternity leave, employers with conditions are encouraged to arrange at least 5 days of joint parental leave for the father.

    Hubei Province has recently adopted amendments to the Measures of Hubei Province for the Implementation of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly, which stipulates that the only child may enjoy 15 days of the elderly nursing leave to take care of their incapacitated or hospitalized elderlies. This amendment will be enacted as of December 1, 2017.
