    State Council: It Is Prohibited Setting Age, Hukou and Other Limitations on Recruitment of College Graduates

    国务院办公厅关于做好2013年今天公布全国普通高等学校毕业生就业工作的通知,要求用人单位招聘高校毕业生,不得以毕业院校、年龄、户籍等作为限制性要求。

    General Office of the State Council today released the Circular on the Efforts in Promoting the Employment of College and University Graduates Nationwide for 2013, stating that employing units are prohibited from setting restrictive requirements such as graduating college, age and hukou when recruiting college and university graduates.

    国家外汇管理局日前发布《国家外汇管理局关于印发及配套文件的通知》,废止了24项外商直接投资外汇管理规范性文件,主要涉及外汇登记、账户开立与使用、资金收付及结售汇等环节和政策。

    The Notice of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Issuance and Printing and Supporting Documents recently promulgated by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange abolished 24 regulations concerning the foreign exchange management for foreign direct investment, mainly involving procedures and policies for foreign exchange registration, account opening and use, capital receipt, payment and settlement, etc.

    Ministry of Education: College Graduates This Year Hit a New Record

    教育部公布数据显示,今年全国普通高校毕业生规模将达699万,比2012年增加19万人,是新中国成立以来大学毕业生最多的一年。截至5月1日,北京地区高校毕业生签约率为33.6%。

    Data released by the Ministry of Education shows that, this year's college and university graduates are expected to hit 6.99 million, a 190,000 increase compared with 2012, the largest number since the founding of the People's Republic of China. By May 1, signing rate for students graduating from colleges and universities located in Beijing is 33.6%.

    Guangzhou Adjusts the Contribution Baseline for Work-related Injury Insurance and Unemployment Insurance

    从2013年5月1日起,广州市企业职工最低工资标准调整为1,550元,为此,广州市的工伤、失业保险缴费基数下限随之由1,300元调整为1,550元。

    On May 1, 2013, Guangzhou's minimum wage standard for enterprise workers are adjusted to RMB 1,550. As a result, the contribution baseline for work-related injury insurance and unemployment insurance is correspondingly adjusted from RMB 1,300 to RMB 1,550 accordingly.

    Hong Kong Is Elected the Most Competitive City in Cross Strait Two Coasts and Four Places for 11 Consecutive Years

    中国社科院发表的新一份中国城市竞争力报告显示,香港连续第11年获选为中国两岸四地最具竞争力城市,但其竞争力优势正在削弱。报告指出,2012年综合经济竞争力指数排名前十的城市依次是:香港、深圳、上海、台北、广州、北京、苏州、佛山、天津和澳门。

    The new Annual Report on China Urban Competitiveness published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences states that Hong Kong is again elected the most competitive city in cross strait two coasts and four places, the 11th consecutive time to win such an honor. However, its competitive edges are also weakening. The report points out that the top 10 cities evaluated on comprehensive economic competitiveness in 2012 are: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Taipei, Guangzhou, Beijing, Suzhou, Foshan, Tianjin and Macau, in a descending order.

    国家统计局数据显示,2012年全国城镇非私营和私营单位的就业人员年平均工资分别为46,769元、24,556元,增速分别比2011年减少2.5和2.1个百分点。

    Data of National Bureau of Statistics of China indicates that in 2012, the average annual wage for employees working in non-private and private units is RMB 46,769 and 24,556 respectively, with the growth rate decreased respectively by 2.5% and 2.1% compared with 2011.

    国家统计局公布的全国职工工资统计显示,不同行业收入差距略有缩小,最高行业人均年工资与最低行业工资之比约为4:1。但地区差距、行业差距、岗位差距仍然较大。

    Statistics on wages of workers released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China reveal that the income gap between different industries is slightly narrowed: the ratio between industry with highest per capita annual wage and that with lowest per capita annual wage is 4:1. However, wages still vary significantly with region, industry and post.

    慈铭健康管理集团针对全国11个城市的22万余名企业职工的一项调查显示,36.3%的人每天工作时间在9-10小时以上,超过五分之三的人认为加班已经成为常态化。

    A survey conducted by Ciming Checkup Management Group on over 220,000 workers in China's 11 cities indicates that, 36.3% of the surveyed work 9-10 or even more hours each day, while more than three-fifths think that overtime work has become normalized.

    国家旅游局《国民休闲状况调查报告》显示,中国国民工作日空闲时间仅3小时,远低于经济合作与发展组织18个国家23.9%的平均值。带薪休假方面,中国大陆在参与调查的39个国家和地区中排名最低。

    The National Recreation Survey Report released by China National Tourism Administration shows that, the idle time for Chinese nationals during workdays is only 3 hours, far below 23.9%—the average value for 18 member states of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. When it comes to paid leave, Mainland China ranks the lowest among the 39 surveyed countries and regions.
