Expatriates in China on the Fence toward Participation in Social Insurance

Foreign Expatriates working in China continue to hold a wait-and-see attitude toward participating in social insurance. So far, only half of them join the program. In addition, 13 countries have signed agreement with China, with an aim to help expatiates in China to have access to more preferential policy by reducing their burden.

Some South Korean Enterprises Reported to be Withdrawing from Chinese Market

According to the Department of Knowledge Economy of South Korea, 14 enterprises related to jewels and accessories business in Qingdao of China will be relocated back to certain industrial park in Iksan City of Jeollabuk-do Province of South Korea . This is first batch of enterprises returning to South Korea since this April after South Korean government have launched bail-out plans for these relocated enterprises.

Beijing: Maternity Allowance for 98 Days of Maternity Leave After April 28th

Beijing Human Resources and Social Insurance Bureau has released new policies for maternity insurance, maternity leave days will be increased from 90 days to 98 days, and this new policy will be implemented from April 28th of this year. Under the new rule, female employees who take maternity leave after April 28th can become entitled to 98 days of maternity allowance.

Guangzhou: Three Times of Penalty for Companies Failing to Contribute Medical Insurance Premium

The website of Guangzhou Human Resources and Social Insurance Bureau has released the decision on amendment of Provision Method on Guangzhou Urban Employees Basic Medical Insurance, which rules that employers who fail to contribute premiums for medical insurance will be fined with a penalty above one time of the premium and three times of the premium as maximum.

New Policy for Shenzhen Accumulation Fund Loan with a Maximum Loan of 900,000 for Household

New policy for accumulation fund loan is officially launched in Shenzhen. From September 28th, the balance for the account of housing accumulation fund in Shenzhen is elevated from 10 times to 12 times. The cap credit limit is elevated from 800,000 to 900,000 (the credit limit for individual application is maintained at the level of 500,000).
